3. Legal basis for data processing
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legitimate Interests [Article 6(1)(f) GDPR]: For managing, operating, optimizing, and securing our website, as well as handling regular inquiries sent via email, phone, or WhatsApp.
- Contractual Performance [Article 6(1)(b) GDPR]: Where your communication via email, phone, or WhatsApp constitutes steps taken at your request prior to entering into a legal service contract.
- Legal Obligations [Article 6(1)(c) GDPR]: Solely if you become our client, we process your personal data to comply with legal obligations binding upon us under Romanian and EU law (e.g., tax compliance, accounting rules, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and Know Your Customer (KYC) rules set out by the Romanian Lawyers’ Statutory Bodies).
4. Hosting and third-party service providers
We limit the disclosure of your data to trusted service providers necessary for maintaining our online presence and communications:
- Communications: Data shared via WhatsApp is processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
- Website Platform: The website is built on the WordPress Content Management System (CMS).
- Website Hosting Services: Our website and server infrastructure are hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger UAB, Lithuania), ensuring that website data and technical logs are securely stored within the European Economic Area (EEA).
- Email Hosting Provider: Our professional email services for the domain rt-legal.ro are provided by Zoho (Zoho Corporation GmbH). The primary data storage for EU-based accounts is located within secure data centers inside the EEA – this applies to our account.
- Cookie Consent Management: We use Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S, Denmark) to deploy a transparent cookie consent banner and manage your cookie preferences in full compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
5. International transfers
Data stored via our website hosting (Hostinger) and cookie management (Cookiebot) remains within the EEA.
Regarding our email services provided by Zoho, while the primary data is hosted within the EEA, remote technical access, infrastructure maintenance, or customer support may be performed by other corporate entities within the Zoho group located outside the EEA. To legalize and secure these data flows, Zoho operates under an intra-company data transfer agreement incorporating the Standard Contractual Clauses(SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
For communications via WhatsApp, processing is handled by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. To the extent that any data is transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States, such transfers are safeguarded under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the SCCs approved by the European Commission, ensuring an adequate level of data protection.

6. How long we retain your data
We only store your personal data for as long as strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected:
- Cookies: The lifespan of individual cookies varies. You can view the exact retention periods for each cookie type directly in the Cookie Declaration generated by Cookiebot on our website.
- Technical Logs: Website safety and technical server logs are automatically deleted or anonymized within a short period (typically up to 30 days), unless required for investigation of security incidents.
- Inquiries & Communications: Messages received via email, phone, or WhatsApp are retained for the duration necessary to address and resolve your request, or for up to 1 year from the last interaction if no client relationship is established.
- Client Data: If you become our client, your data will be retained for the minimum statutory periods dictated by Romanian financial, tax, and Bar regulations.
7. Your rights
